“Learn to like what doesn't cost much.
Learn to like reading, conversation, music.
Learn to like plain food, plain service, plain cooking.
Learn to like fields, trees, brooks, hiking, rowing, climbing hills.
Learn to like people, even though some of them may be different...different from you.
Learn to like to work and enjoy the satisfaction doing your job as well as it can be done.
Learn to like the song of birds, the companionship of dogs.
Learn to like gardening, puttering around the house, and fixing things.
Learn to like the sunrise and sunset, the beating of rain on the roof and windows, and the gentle fall of snow on a winter day.
Learn to keep your wants simple and refuse to be controlled by the likes and dislikes of others.”

Happy.

Lots of things make me happy.
Like pretty skies, yummy food, fall clothes, and the sound of wind.

This shirt makes me happy. Very happy.

Happy Friday, dear ones.

Typical

Good news. My siblings are out of school. Which means lots more time for video games.

Video games? Really?
Yes, really. Little did you know, that I am quite the gamer.

Along with reading Pride and Prejudice (it's a work in progress), this is what my day looked like.

I play video games whilst wearing floral. Somewhat contradicting.

Love me some Halo Reach.
Just call me Master Chief.

Say it how it is

Why hello there.
I've been gone a while.
But I'm back now. And it's marvelous.
I've learned a few things while I was "away."
Things that I feel others should know.
Why? Just some words of advice.
You know. From my experiences.
So they might help you.
Here they are:

1. Hot cocoa is great. But it's ten times better
with peppermint sticks in it.
2. Watching Avatar: the Last Airbender saved me from going insane during finals week.
3. Dancing to Skrillex now and then is good for you.
Especially with your younger siblings.
4. Christmas shopping is the worst. Online shopping is the way to go.
5. Movie nights are so much better when it's cold outside. Or should I say movie days...(Four movies in one day. I'm not lazy at all.)
6. Being single is wonderful. I'm enjoying it while I can. I don't have to take care of anyone else. Muahahahaaa. Brilliant.
7. "The best way to spread Christmas cheer
is singing loud for all to hear."
8. Making gingerbread houses is not a good idea for two inexperienced girls, who have no idea what they're doing. Ahem... Alyssa...
9. Missionary letters are one of the best ways to make me smile.
10. Leaving our world to be sucked in a fantasy world is totally okay.
I do it on a regular basis.
Narnia and Alagasia are my second homes. It's fine.
11. Video games are the greatest self esteem booster. PSYCH. Not for me, but my gracious I sure do enjoy them.
12. Family dance parties are the best way to get an ab work out. Let me tell ya, my papa sure knows how to boogie.
13. Christmas time is the perfect time to watch "The Testaments." Especially when you need a testimony boost.
14. When you have a heinous ward calling, for example ward music chairman, and have to do some crazy project, like write the christmas program, rely on the spirit. It makes things much easier. Trust me.
15. If life really is like a box of chocolates, life isn't too good to me. I always get stuck with the coffee filled dark chocolate ones. Gag.

Ta-duh!
There you have 'em.
The lessons i've learned that saved me from depression this month.
Okay. Maybe not depression. But insanity & sorrow? Definitely.

Oh hey. One more thing.
CHRISTMAS IS IN 5 DAYS.
Just in case you didn't know.

Mittens

Well. I just fell out of the blogosphere loop for about a month.
But thats okay. Because I did some pretty splendid stuff in that month.

We visited Adam on his birthday.

I snuggled with my kitty.

I cleaned my room ever so beautifully.
But sadly it doesn't stay this way for over a week.

Organized my closet...

Found out I have a ridiculous obsession with blue and yellow.

Also yellow bags.

I stepped on Alese's perfectly vacuumed floor. heh heh.

She was mad.

I got my book signed by the one and only CHRISTOPHER PAOLINI!!

(he's the author of these marvelous books)

Went to Megan's bridal shower. And only took one picture.
Naturally it had to do with Pride & Prejudice.
Ahhhhh. Sorry, but this was the most exciting thing at the bridal shower.
SWOONING.

Oh yes.
How can I forget.
I also got to see my bestest friends in the world.
I love them.
I'll post a picture.
IF I get them from Bro0oke.

Also... I BOUGHT MITTENS.
And for some strange reason, I went crazy with them.
I blame the dessert from Chilis at 10 pm. WAY too late for sugar.
And the fact that they are lined with wool from heaven. I'm sure of it.
It's softer than a newly born sheep (cause obviously I would know).

I made up several mitten dances,
one of which is titled "the mitten crotch grab."
Or the crowd pleaser "the mitten worm."
I played mittens with Kate.
I wore mittens for over an hour. While inside Adams house.
And danced to Shakira.

You just had to be there.
And be on a sugar high.
And have your own mittens.

So as you can see, my month has been quite productive.
Even if I'll most likely fail my math class.
And barely pass my German course.
But honestly I could care less.
Because I'm happy.
Hollah! Hurray for happiness and ignorance.

Baby Brooke

Part 3 of 7.
I give you the beautiful Brooke Ashley,
without whom, I would probably crumble to pieces.

The adventures of Brookie & Stace
 started at the toddler age.

She came to all my birthday parties,
and I to hers.

I taught her to cartwheel,
she taught me how to tie my shoes.

We wrote love notes to boys.
We rode scooters in the church parking lot.
We pulled pranks on everyone and their dog,
and continue to on a regular basis.

We carpool to college.
We have matching pants
(which are much more flattering on her tiny bum).
We watch reality TV together.

We chit chat about handsome men in our singles ward...
We bet on asking out men in our singles ward...
and we tease each other about men in our singles ward.

She's strong as a rock.
Sweet as sugar,
busier than a bee,
and knows how to live.

We joke.
We laugh.
We cry.
We play.

We help each other through hard times,
which always strengthens our friendship.

No doubt in my mind,
I would go through any heart breaking situation
for my best friend Brooke.

Ashley, Asher or Ash

Here she is, Ashley Anderson.
Number two of this 7 Part series.

I'd like to officially state,
that if it were not for Jan Hawkes Spirit Team class,
I would not have met this classy woman.

We sat across from each other,
and shared our messy chalk.

We swoon over handsome "toe heads",
and drool over sexy "knee caps".

We share the same taste in music,
and talk about it often.

We become giddy from the simple mention of:
"pride & prejudice"
"Mr. Darcy" &
"Mr. Bingley"
(not as handsome as Mr. Darcy, of course)

I laugh at her awkward, but cute, innocence.
And she squirms at my horrible manners.

We joke.
We laugh.
We cry.
We play.

We look forward to the day
that she meets my brother.
And they date,
and hopefully (as we've planned),
they'll fall in love.

And we will be SISTERS IN LAW!!

Basically I'd rather be best friends with Ashley,
than have Mr. Darcy as my loving husband.

"Whaaat??" "Really???"
Don't believe me?
Get to know Ash.
I dare you to question me again.
