“Learn to like what doesn't cost much.
Learn to like reading, conversation, music.
Learn to like plain food, plain service, plain cooking.
Learn to like fields, trees, brooks, hiking, rowing, climbing hills.
Learn to like people, even though some of them may be different...different from you.
Learn to like to work and enjoy the satisfaction doing your job as well as it can be done.
Learn to like the song of birds, the companionship of dogs.
Learn to like gardening, puttering around the house, and fixing things.
Learn to like the sunrise and sunset, the beating of rain on the roof and windows, and the gentle fall of snow on a winter day.
Learn to keep your wants simple and refuse to be controlled by the likes and dislikes of others.”

July 9th letter (changed P-Day for this week)

I have really felt your prayers this week. I appreciate it so much.
Let me just give you the quick summary of our CRAZY week.
We met with Herr M in the Botanischer Gartens on Tuesday, because he is a plant lover, To the EXTREME.
Botanical Gardens
We met with Sister N on the same day and talked a lot about the temple and addressed a lot of her concerns. She is SO ready to go to the temple. I can tell she wants it with everything that she has!
My German Oma
But Wednesday, we met with a young man from Yemen. He is curious about the church but not very serious. We met him in POTSDAMER PLATZ.... and I about DIED being there again. So many memories with you mom!! I loved it! I'll send some photos! That meeting went pretty well, but we can't meet with him because he isn't in our area. But I know he met with some other sisters on Sunday!

FOURTH OF JULY!
We had 2 eating appointments and we taught English to two German ladies, G and R M. They are the sweetest! We are going to invite them to a RS activity this week :) I hope they come! We ate lunch with a man named A! The Elders came with us too! It was cool. We sat on the floor and ate Iranian food! It was surprisingly really good!
Yummy dinner!

Then for our dinner appointment we ate with some American families and had a barbeque. We even had WATERMELON! So yummy.
And naturally we all wore red white and blue! MURIKA!
On Friday we had two eating appointments as well. Breakfast and Dinner. Both with less actives. There seems to be a lot of less actives. It’s sad. But we are working on it!!!!
SATURDAY!  I loved Saturday. We rode our bikes all day, and the weather was beautiful! It was heaven. We went by a lot of less actives that day as well.
BUT THINGS ARE GOING GREAT! Obviously you miss me like crazy though, right?? ;)

I'll be sending you a lot of photos in some more emails!  I LOVE YOU! ALSO - TODAY WE ARE GOING TO POTSDAM!!! Ahhhhh.
I am so so-so-so excited. Expect lots of photos next week. I am so giddy!
Once again, I love you to pieces!
