“Learn to like what doesn't cost much.
Learn to like reading, conversation, music.
Learn to like plain food, plain service, plain cooking.
Learn to like fields, trees, brooks, hiking, rowing, climbing hills.
Learn to like people, even though some of them may be different...different from you.
Learn to like to work and enjoy the satisfaction doing your job as well as it can be done.
Learn to like the song of birds, the companionship of dogs.
Learn to like gardening, puttering around the house, and fixing things.
Learn to like the sunrise and sunset, the beating of rain on the roof and windows, and the gentle fall of snow on a winter day.
Learn to keep your wants simple and refuse to be controlled by the likes and dislikes of others.”

Here come the tears. Literally.

"There are good ships and wood ships,
ships that sail the sea,
but the best ships are friendships,
may they always be!"

This made me choke up a bit after I read it.
But I wasn't sad for too long because I saw that it was an Irish Proverb.
Then I imagined a leprechaun saying it, and it made me laugh.

Everything is going to be okay. We'll all stay in touch.
I KNOW it. We get along much too well to just move on,
and try to forget about each other. But honestly, who would try to forget?
We have the greatest memories. And they're strong. Probably stronger than diamonds.
No, wait. They ARE stronger than diamonds, and from what I hear, those things are pretty strong. And valuable. So is our friendship circle.

So here's to growing up, because I know we'll all be doing it simultaneously and together.
